What's Happening

Back to School!

As summer quickly comes to an end and children are getting preparing to head back to school the Williamstown Fire Company would like to remind everyone driving on the roads to be on alert for children waiting at bus stops or walking to school. Remember that you must stop for school buses when their warning lights are activated.

Death Burial Fund Drive

Our annual Death Burial Fund Drive is still in progress. Any donation, no matter how large, will go a long way for the family of one of our fallen firefighters should they give their life in the line of duty. More information on the Death Burial Fund can be found here. As always we appreciate your support!

Summer Barbeque Safety

It is important during the Summer months to exercise proper safety while enjoying outdoor barbeques. On average 5000 people a year are injured by improperly using gas and charcoal grills. The following tips on barbeque safety can be very useful and were provided by the US Fire Administration.

  • Before using a grill, check the connection between the propane tank and the fuel line. Make sure the venturi tubes - where the air and gas mix - are not blocked.
  • Do not overfill the propane tank.
  • Do not wear loose clothing while cooking at a barbecue.
  • Be careful when using lighter fluid. Do not add fluid to an already lit fire because the flame can flashback up into the container and explode.
  • Keep all matches and lighters away from children. Teach your children to report any loose matches or lighters to an adult immediately. Supervise children around outdoor grills.
  • Dispose of hot coals properly - douse them with plenty of water, and stir them to ensure that the fire is out. Never place them in plastic, paper or wooden containers.
  • Never grill/barbecue in enclosed areas - carbon monoxide could be produced.
  • Make sure everyone knows to Stop, Drop and Roll in case a piece of clothing does catch fire. Call 911 or your local emergency number if a burn warrants serious medical attention.

Thanks for your Support

Hoagie Sale

On Saturday April 10th the Williamstown Fire Company held its annual hoagie sale to coincide with the Monroe Township Little League Opening Day Parade. About 30 members met at 7AM to prepare and sell 500 Italian Hoagies. Due to the nice spring weather and many repeat customers sales were very quick this year. All 500 hoagies were sold out by 12:15! We thank all that bought a hoagie and hope the sandwich was delicious. The fire company would also like to extend a huge thank you to F&M Produce on the Black Horse Pike for donating all the produce for the hoagies.

Comedy Show Beef and Beer

Thanks to all that came out to our Annual Comedy Show Beef and Beer on Saturday February 27th, it was a packed house. We hope all in attendance had a great time and enjoyed the dinner and comedy show. We thank you for your continued support!
