The Williamstown Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary was started in 1948.
The purpose of this organization is to promote goodwill and socialability
of the women associated with the Williamstown Fire Co. #1. We also hold
fundraisers to raise money so that we can help support functions and events
for the firefighters and their families. Such events include our Annual
Children's Christmas Party and the Firefighter's Banquet. We help the
firefighters with their fundraisers as well and any other cause that may
help the community. Our Ladies Auxiliary was involved with the fire department
in raising money and collecting necessary items for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Our firefighters also count on the Auxiliary to come to their aide with refreshments
when they are on long jobs such as fires and rescue assignments.
Our members include any wife, mother, sister or daughter, at least 18 years old. Associate members
include mothers and sisters of existing Auxiliary members and any woman, at least 18 years of age who
is a significant other of a firefighter in good standing for 365 consecutive days.
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at the Williamstown Fire Co. #1 Main Station
located at 555 S. Main Street in Williamstown. Meetings are not held during the months of July
and August. Fees include a one time initaion fee of $2.00 and a yearly fee of $5.00. We welcome
any eligible ladies to join our organization.
