Thursday evening Engine 291 was called to the Jefferson Village Apartments for a reported vehicle fire. The caller stated that flames were visible from the engine compartment of a car in the parking lot. Shortly after dispatch, command arrived on location and confirmed a working engine compartment fire. Engine 2913 was advised to respond into the scene and go in service with a hand line to extinguish the fire. Once the Engine Company was on scene the fire was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.

- - Friday 10/23/09 @ 09:42 - Cover Station 10-2
Friday morning Engine 291 was called to cover Station 10-2's substation while District 10 was out at a building fire on the Black Horse Pike. As crews were assembling and preparing to head to the cover, Black Horse Pike command called Engine 291's crew to the scene for man power. Engine 29-11 responded to the scene where crews assisted District 10. With the fire out and nothing further for the engine company to do they were made available shortly before 11AM.

Early Wednesday morning Engine 291, along with Squad 294 and Rescue 294, was called to Fries Mill Road for a reported motor vehicle crash. Crews were advised the call was for a single car vs. pole with negative entrapment. Shortly after dispatch command arrived on location and confirmed a car vs. multiple poles with negative entrapment and wires down. A response from Atlantic City Electric was requested and county was advised that Fries Mill Road was going to be shut down for an extended period. Station 291 fire police was requested to assist PD with traffic control. As crews awaited a tow truck to remove the car from the roadway they secured the power to the vehicle and contained leaking fluids. Once the vehicle was removed from the road Engine 291 was made available while Monroe PD remained on scene to control traffic until the road was reopened.

- - Tuesday 10/20/09 @ 09:41 - Dwelling
Tuesday morning Station 291 was called to Blue Bell Road for a reported dwelling fire. As the station was being dispatched to the dwelling from a 911 call Monroe PD received an alarm system call, for an activated smoke detector, at the same address. Within minutes of dispatch command arrived on location and advised nothing was showing. Upon further investigation command found an active dryer fire in the basement and the basement full of heavy smoke. The box was requested to be filled which added 10-2 as the rescue team and local EMS to the call. Shortly after, crews arrived and went in service with a 1 3/4 inch hand line to quickly knock the fire down. Crews remained on scene until 10:50 as the dwelling was cleared of smoke and the fire was investigated.

On Monday morning Station 291 and Station 295 were called to the Cecil Section of Monroe Township for a reported dwelling fire. Command was advised by dispatch that an electrical box on the side of the house was sparking and smoking. Crews arrived on scene and requested a response from Atlantic City Electric for a faulty electrical box. With no active fire and nothing further for Station 291 they were released. Crews from Station 295 remained on scene awaiting the electric company.

- - Sunday 10/18/09 @ 19:11 - Vehicle
Sunday evening Engine 291 was called to Glassboro Road for a reported vehicle fire. As command was in route he was advised that the caller stated a street sweeper truck was on fire in the parking lot of a local landscaping business. Shortly after command arrived on scene and confirmed a working vehicle fire. As crews were arriving on scene command advised the county that the bulk of the fire was knocked down with fire extinguishers on scene. Crews still continued in and went in service with a booster line to cool the truck down. The county fire marshal was called to investigate the fire and the company was cleared at 20:07.

Early Saturday morning Engine 291 was called out for its second motor vehicle crash with entrapment in just over 2 hours. This call was for a reported tractor trailer vs. car at the intersection of Cross Keys Road and the Black Horse Pike. Shortly after dispatch command arrived and found 2 people trapped. Crews from Engine 291 assisted the Rescue with the door pop to access the patient. Once the people were removed and the scene secured the Engine company was made available at 02:35.

- - Saturday 10/17/09 @ 00:49 - Lift Assist
As crews were just finishing up putting their trucks back in service from the earlier motor vehicle crash Engine 291 was called out to assist the squad with lifting a person. Crews quickly responded and helped the squad get a person who had fallen out of bed into the ambulance. With the person in the ambulance Engine 291 was made available.

Shortly before midnight on a damp Friday evening Engine 291, along with Rescue and Squad 294, was dispatched to the area of Bluebell Road and Corkery Lane for a reported motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Command responded to the scene where he found a single car overturned with an occupant entrapped. Crews arrived shortly after and assisted the squad and rescue with removing the patient and packaging them up. With the patient removed and nothing further for the fire department to do Engine 291 was cleared in just over 20 minutes.

- - Monday 10/12/09 @ 11:21 - Helispot
Monday morning Engine 291 was called to New Brooklyn Road for a helispot assignment. The squad was already on scene of a fall victim and they requested the helicopter be flown for a transport to Cooper Trauma. The patient reportedly fell out of a tree with a chain saw. South Star landed at Victory Christian School where the patient was transported too and loaded on the helicopter. Once the patient was loaded and South Star was off the ground the Engine Company was made available.

- - Wednesday 10/07/09 - Multiple Calls
On Wednesday Station 291 was once again busy running calls. As heavy winds moved through the area crews ran a total of 10 calls within the matter of a few hours. Calls ranged from trees down on wires and cars to an alarm system and a brush fire. The brush fire was from wires down in a field and was quickly growing due to the high winds. Station 291 brush trucks were able to extinguish it before it got too out of control. All other calls were handled without incident.

Saturday evening Engine 291 was called to Route 322 for a reported vehicle fire. Command responded to the scene where he reported the bulk of the fire in the engine compartment to be knocked down but that there was still a small fire. Crews responded and quickly extinguished the blaze. With the fire out the Engine company was quickly cleared and put back in service.

- - Saturday 10/03/09 @ 09:18 - Helispot
Saturday morning Engine 291 was called to Fries Mill Road for a helispot assignment so South Star could transport a patient from a pedestrian vs. motor vehicle accident. Life support was already on location with the squad and requested the patient be flown due to the severity of the injuries. It was reported that the jogger ran off the bike path and right into traffic traveling at about 50 mph. Upon impact he was thrown over 100 feet out and 30 feet up. Crews responded and established a helicopter landing zone at 322 and Fries Mill Road. He was flown to Cooper Trauma by South Star where he later succumbed to his injuries.
