As crews were returning to quarters from the earlier crash with entrapment Engine 291 was called to another crash with entrapment about a half mile from the previous. Crews quickly arrived on scene and found a 2 car MVC with one car on its roof. All patients were able to remove themselves from the vehicles before fire department arrival. Crews secured power to the vehicles and assisted the squad with patient packaging. The Engine company was made available at 06:41

- - Wednesday 01/27/10 @ 05:20 - MVC
Early Wednesday morning Engine 291, along with the rescue and squad from 29-4, was called to Tuckahoe Road for a reported motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Command arrived on scene and found a single patient entrapped and unconscious. Crews arrived and assisted the rescue with extrication. The patient was transported to Cross Keys Airport where he was flown to Cooper Hospital with serious injuries. With SouthStar off the ground and the accident cleared the Engine Company was made available at 06:25.

- - Tuesday 01/26/10 @ 07:27 - MVC
Tuesday morning Engine 291 was called out to the Black Horse Pike and Washington Ave for a reported motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Engine 2914 arrived on scene within minutes of dispatch and went in service with their combo rescue tool to extricate the patient. The remainder of crews on scene secured the power to the vehicle and applied oil dry to the roadway. The patient was quickly removed from the car and the vehicle was removed from the roadway. The company was made available shortly after 08:00.

- - Monday 01/25/10 @ - 2nd Alarm Structure
As Station 291's fire police was out at a previous call they observed a power line down on top of a shed that was catching fire. The station was toned out and crews quickly arrived. Due to the live power line on the ground crews could not put water on the fire. Command decided to use the company's chemical truck which has purple K fire retardant on board. The foam was used in an attempt to control the fire and prevent it from spreading until the power was secured. Stations 29-5, 10-2 and 43-3 were added to the call for foam and man power. Once the power was secured crews were able to put water on the fire and a nearby trailer that the fire was starting to extend to. All companies were clear from the fire ground at 17:17.

- - Monday 01/25/10 - Multiple Calls
On a windy, rainy Monday Station 291 was busy running multiple calls. The majority of the calls were for wires and trees down due to the heavy winds. There were also several calls for fire police to assist Monroe PD with traffic control due to street lights and power being knocked out in the area. Crews ran a total of 12 calls between 0900 and 2100.

- - Saturday 01/23/10 @ 07:43 - Building
For the second time in less than 12 hours Station 291 was called to North Black Horse Pike for a reported building fire. While in route command was advised that the caller stated heavy black smoke was coming from the roof line. He quickly arrived on location and discovered that the HVAC system was putting a large amount of smoke out of its chimney causing people driving by to think the building was on fire. Management was advised of the problem and the Station was quickly made available.

- - Thursday 01/21/10 @ 15:41 - Vehicle
Thursday afternoon Engine 291 was called to the Black Horse Pike for a reported vehicle fire. Command arrived on location with a vehicle well involved and completed the working vehicle fire box. Crews arrived and made quick work of the burning Chevy Blazer. The fire was placed under control in less than 10 minutes from dispatch. The company was made available at 16:02.

- - Tuesday 01/19/10 @ 08:08 - Dwelling
Tuesday morning Station 291 was called to Buchanan Ave for a possible electrical fire. County advised that the caller stated their TV was smoking and the lights were flickering. Command was quickly on location and secured power to the home. Crews arrived and checked for any extension. Atlantic City Electric was called to the scene and once on location the scene was turned over to them and maintenance. The Station was available at 08:58.

- - Monday 01/18/10 @ 20:35 - Dwelling
Monday evening Station 291 was called to Hessian Drive for a reported dwelling fire. Command responded and was advised that the neighbor saw someone close the garage door to the house and shortly after smoke started pouring from the dwelling. Command and PD arrived on location to find the source of the smoke to be a dryer vent pushing steam out into the cold air. The station was quickly recalled.

- - Monday 01/18/10 @ 08:56 - Dwelling
Monday morning Station 291 was called to South Main Street for a reported fire in the basement. Command arrived and confirmed a light smoke condition in the basement. Crews arrived and found the source of the smoke to be a malfunctioning heater. The power to the heater was secured and crews ventilated the dwelling to remove the smoke. The assignment was held to one engine while crews waited for the smoke to clear. The station was made available at 09:15.

- - Saturday 01/16/10 @ 22:01 - Dwelling
Saturday night Station 291 was called to Pin Oak Road for a reported dwelling fire. Command arrived on location with light smoke showing. First in crews secured the hydrant in front of the residence and stretched a 1 3/4 inch hand line to the door. Crews entered the dwelling and found active fire in between the 1st and 2nd floors with extension to a second floor bedroom. Ceilings were pulled and the fire was extinguished. Station 29-5, RIC 10-2 and Monroe EMS were also on scene while Station 43-3 covered Williamstown's local from 291's main station. All units were clear from the scene at 03:11.

Wednesday evening Station 291 was called to Clayton Road for a reported dwelling fire. Dispatch advised that the homeowner heard a loud bang in the basement and then the house started to fill with smoke. Audible smoke detectors were heard in the background. Crews arrived and found the source of the smoke to be from a heater backfire. The power to the unit was secured and crews provided ventilation to remove the smoke. With the smoke clear and negative carbon monoxide readings the Station was made available at 21:16.

As crews were picking up from a small chimney fire on Forest Drive Station 291 was called to the Monroe Speed Wash on Poplar Street for a reported building fire. Command quickly responded and was advised of a washing machine in the building smoking. He arrived with nothing showing and began investigating. The faulty washing machine was found and its power was secured. Crews ventilated the building to remove a minor smoke and odor condition before being released.

- - Monday 01/11/10 @ 09:04 - Building
Monday morning Station 291 was called to South State Asphalt for a reported building fire. As command was in route he was advised by dispatch that there was reported to be smoke coming from the bag house. Shortly later crews arrived and confirmed a working fire in some sort of compactor. They quickly went in service trying to cool and open the unit. Access was made to the unit by opening hatches and cutting holes in the side. Due to the distance off the roadway two tankers were special called from Franklinville. The CBRNE assessment team was also called out to monitor the air due to the burning materials. Canteen 9 from Deptford was called to provide warm drinks and snacks to the firefighters. The fire was placed under control and the station was available at 12:56.

Thursday evening Station 291 was called to the Laurelton Village Apartments for a reported dwelling fire. Dispatch advised command that the caller stated they believed a fire in the kitchen was out but the home was full of smoke. Command arrived with nothing showing and began investigating. It was quickly determined the fire was out. Crews arrived and went in service to clear the smoke from the dwelling and used a thermal imagining camera to check for any extension. With the smoke clear and negative extension the Station was made available at 18:30.

Wednesday Evening Station 291 was called to the Williamstown Post Office for a reported smell of something burning in the building. Crews arrived and began investigating to find the cause of the odor. It was determined that the motor in a roof heating unit had seized and filled the building with smoke. Crews secured the unit and ventilated the building to clear the smoke. The company was made available at 18:40.

As crews were returning from a false CO Alarm on Ipswich Lane Engine 291 was called to the Black Horse Pike for a reported fully involved vehicle fire on the shoulder. Dispatch advised command that police were on location of a fully involved vehicle. Crews arrived and found the fire was extinguished prior to their arrival. It was determined that something was stuck under the car that caught fire as it was dragged down the road. Once the car pulled over the fire burnt out. The Engine company was quickly made available.

In the early afternoon New Year's Day Engine 291 was called to Florida Ave for a reported working vehicle fire, the company's second working fire of the day. While in route command was advised of multiple calls reporting visible flames in the engine compartment with possible extension into the trailer. Command arrived on location and confirmed a working engine compartment fire with negative extension to the dwelling. Crews arrived and went in service with a hand line to extinguish the blaze and protect the exposure. The Company was made available at 15:18.

Early in the morning New Year's Day Station 291 was called to Glassboro Road for a reported dwelling fire. Dispatch advised the caller stated their house was filling up with smoke. 29101 arrived on location, observed smoke coming from the eves and requested county fill the working fire box. Upon further investigation a working attic fire was found. Crews arrived and went in service with a 1 3/4 inch hand line to quickly bring the fire under control. The fire is being investigated by the county fire marshal.
